Replica of the Davis Guard Medal of 1863 for the defense of Sabin Pass, Texas. Sterling silver with the letters "D.G." above a rude cross known as cross pattee.
On reverse is Sabin Pass, Sept 8th 1863. The Medal is suspended from an Irish green ribbon to honor the 47 Irish garrisoned there and their commander Lt. Richard W. Dowling.
Each medal is numbered on the front and were struck in a limited quantity.
